A power unit is a motor driving a pump that fills a tank and feeds a manifold. For waste equipment, the manifold and its valves decide how smoothly a packer blade or lift gate moves.

AC or DC depends on the chassis; 1.5–15 kW covers most packs. Pressure (140–210 bar) and tank size set duty and heat.

HCIC power packs are compact, with configurable valves and manifolds, and are tested before shipment.
